Forged in Ngunnawal Country, which Canberra calls home, my budding small business is devoted to spotlighting Australia and New Zealand’s speculative fiction scene. Bookish special editions are more popular than ever before, but the instant Australian special editions enter the chat, the answer is almost always DIY.

Star Bookbinding offers special editions of speculative fiction books by exclusively Australian and New Zealand authors, but why stop there? Also available is a limited selection of lined and unlined journals, ensuring artists at any stage of their process can create beautiful art.

Why call it Star Bookbinding? And who is that cat?
I have been both a player and DM in Dungeons & Dragons for nearly fifteen years, and in that time, I have created some truly beloved PCs. However, none left a mark on me quite like my Tabaxi Bard/Rogue (or Barogue, if you will), the glorious Star.
Aside from being a personification of my ADHD, she’s a spider-climbing thief with a considerable cheese addiction. She attempted to catapult herself to the moon as a child because she was told it was made of cheese. Star also happens to be a dhampir (a type of vampire) and musician, leading to the inception of her one-man band, Cheese and Dhampir. As of the present canon within my group’s various settings, Star and several other versions of Star run an interdimensional café called the Galacticat. The head chef is called Michelin Star.
Honestly, I could write a book about Star’s antics. One day, I might do just that…
